Confidence in the security of a company's business is one of the essential elements of its success. Rapid development of entrepreneurship in Russia in the recent years is vivid testimony to the crucial importance of personal and business security in a plural economy. Unable to cope with the challenge, incumbent law enforcement structures have left security issues totally at entrepreneurs' disposal. Foreign companies operating in the Russian market, primarily in its investment sector are beleaguered by the same problems.

A non-commercial organization, the "Business World and Security Alliance - Business Development Security Center" was established on May 25, 2000 to support emerging businesses and entrepreneurs.

The establishment of the Alliance was a reward for the painstaking efforts that Excalibur private security agency had made starting from February 1995 to be able to provide security services prescribed by Russian law and create a client base of Russian and foreign firms and companies.

Growing membership allowed the Alliance to largely increase its potential in a short time. Today, the Alliance is a free association of Russian and foreign companies carrying on production, production, financial and trading activity as well as non-governmental security agencies that provide security, investigation, consulting, information, analytical, legal and engineering services.
